- This spell attempts to bind the creature in place with magical force. The creature makes a Strength saving throw. On a failed saving throw, the target creature is restrained by an invisible force. The restrained creature can use its action to make a Strength (Athletics) Check against your spell DC at disadvantage . On a success it frees itself. If the creature is proficient in Arcana, it can instead make a Intelligence (Arcana) check against your spell DC to free itself.[1]
Harry Potter Spell Description
Used to temporarily bind the victim’s body in a position much like that of a soldier at attention; the victim will usually fall to the ground.[2]
Etymology: Latin petra, meaning “stone”, and fieri (past participle factus), meaning “to become”; totaluscomes from Latin “totus”, meaning “complete."[3]
