Adams, Massachusetts has been home to European-style vertical pit marble quarries since the 1700s. One of these, the Tick & Sons Mining & Stonecuttery, has been infiltrated and taken over by the [[Dark Wizard]] as he probes for ways to access the Ilvermorny campus. He has taken over the guise of the quarry owner, Sam Tick, using a semi-permanent [[Polyjuice Potion]]-related charm.
